ConcordRENTS & Valencia Promote Property Management Careers
By: Marisa Price, SVP Team Member Services, ConcordRENTS
On February 22nd, ConcordRENTS and Valencia College hosted 29 high school juniors and seniors from Osceola County at Landstar Village Apartments.
The goal of the day was to give these students a glimpse into a career in residential property management. The “camp” consisted of foursessions which included: A Day in the life of an office team member and career path, A day in the life of a maintenance team member and career path, General site tour along with leasing demonstration, and Maintenance tour and demonstration.
Many of these students, up to this point, had never considered this industry as a viable career. Students had the opportunity to interact with professionals whose combined years of experience totaled over 160 years working in the industry. These students from Celebration High, Osceola High and Gateway High were engaged asking many questions and enjoyed exploring the community and career opportunities!
Note: ConcordRENTS was a driving force in launching the Valencia College Residential Property Management AS Degree, and the soon to be launched Property Maintenance Program. A number of industry partners, including AAGO, FAA, NAAEI, and IREM, are collaborating with the college to support the program as well. See below for more information!
