In an increasingly interconnected world, the ability to understand and engage with the diverse perspectives and experiences of others is more crucial than ever. This course offers a deep dive into the interpersonal dynamics that shape our interactions and influence societal structures.  Participants will explore:

  • The Nature of Bias: Understanding implicit and explicit biases, how they develop, and their impact on decision-making and behavior.
  • Allyship in Practice: What it means to be an ally, how to support marginalized communities, and the importance of using privilege for positive change.
  • Microaggressions: Identifying and responding to microaggressions, both as a recipient and as a bystander, and understanding their cumulative effects on individuals and organizations.
  • Cultivating Empathy: Developing emotional intelligence and empathy as foundational skills for bridging differences and fostering inclusive environments.
  • Building Inclusive Communities: Strategies for creating spaces that actively support diversity and inclusion, both in and outside of the workplace.

By the end of the course, participants will have a deeper understanding of the complex dynamics of bias and discrimination and be equipped with actionable strategies to create more inclusive, compassionate, and just environments. This course is ideal for anyone committed to personal growth, social responsibility, and building more equitable communities.

Empathy in Action invites you to not only learn about these important issues but to actively engage in creating positive change in your spheres of influence.
